New Setup for the Fall 2020 Season

COVID-19 has changed the way we structure our soccer club. To adapt to the change, the NPYSL has come up with a phased return to soccer system to help families and the community to have fun playing soccer but also to stay healthy in these trying times.

U8 - U14

Phase 1: Individual Foot Skills Practices
Phase 2: Team Building Practices
Phase 3: In-House Games/Limited Travel Games

Phase 1: Individual Foot Skills Practices - August 17 - August 28
In this phase, foot skills training will be the focus. Players will focus on their individual development with no body contact with other players. Practices will be twice a week for an hour. This phase will help the players to adapt to social distancing and to mitigate possible Covid-19 symptoms

Phase 2: Team Building Practices - August 31 - September 11
In this phase, team play will be the focus. Players will focus on learning the game with some body contact. Scrimmages will be possible in this phase. Practices will be twice a week. This phase will only happen if no Covid-19 symptoms occurred in the previous phase.

Phase 3:  In-House Games/Limited Travel Games - September 14 - October 17
In this phase, In-House Games will be introduced for U6 - U10. Practices will be once week. U12 & U14 will have In-House games and could have travel games with other local NEPSAY soccer clubs. Limited travel soccer will occur if all of the previous phases have been successful. This phase will only happen if no Covid-19 symptoms occurred in the previous phase.

If any team should have COVID-19 diagnoses, they will have to quarantine.

U6 Return to Play

U6 will be moved to Sunday afternoons starting September 13.

U6 will be broken up into 2-3 sessions on Sunday afternoons. Parents will have to social distance from the players. We are asking for parents to only sign their children up for soccer if their child can follow direction without their hands being held. We are trying to avoid physical contact as much as possible. Please do not force your child to participate if they are not ready for it. Please talk to your children about social distancing before the first day of soccer.
